Everyone please say a little prayer for the beautiful city of Boston.
Two explosions went off near the finish line of the 117th annual Boston Marathon by Copley Square today.
Every year, for the past 117 years, Boston holds one of the most prestigious and well known races in the world, The Boston Marathon. On Patriots day (the third Monday of April), the race is a day of excitement and support as thousands and thousands of runners take on one of the most important races of their lives. Being the world's oldest annual marathon, it is New England's most widely viewed sporting event and attracts runners of all types, and over 500,000+ spectators. After running through 8 towns (Hopkinton, Ashland, Framingham, Natick, Wellesley, Newton, Brookline & Boston), runners race to the finish at Copley Square.
Today, however, the the historic marathon has been changed forever.
Just a few days ago, while Landon and I were walking around Boston, after noticing all the decorations and banners advertising and supporting the upcoming race, I mentioned to Landon that once we moved to Boston, we should train and compete in the marathon! It's so scary how things can change so much in the blink of an eye!
So please pray for the runners, spectators, first responders, families, students, professors, professionals, citizens, and the terrorist.
Bless this city.
